We’re proud to congratulate the Killeen family of Newtown, Kilkee, Co. Clare, national winners of the Milking Hygiene and Facilities Award last week at the 2025 NDC & Kerrygold Quality Milk Awards.
Andrew and Bernadette Killeen, alongside their son James, exemplify what it means to farm with care, innovation, and community spirit. From milking 24 cows in 1994 to managing a high-performing herd of 110 today, the Killeen journey has been one of resilience, progress, and deep respect for heritage and nature.

Their farm is a living legacy, five generations strong, where flocks of swans and geese share space with cutting-edge breeding, low-carbon practices, and top-tier milk quality.
With an EBI in the top 1% nationally and a commitment to biodiversity and sustainable nutrient management, the Killeen’s’ are leading the way in future-focused dairying.
This award is a testament to their dedication to animal health, hygiene, and continuous improvement. It’s also a celebration of family, community, and the values that make Irish dairy world-class.
Well done, Andrew, Bernadette, James, and the entire Killeen family!
