Evolve is our comprehensive on-farm sustainability programme designed to enhance the environmental, social, and economic sustainability of dairy farming for our milk suppliers. Evolve embodies our commitment to leading the way in sustainable milk production and regenerative agriculture, ensuring that our farming practices protect the planet, support farmers, and deliver high-quality dairy products.
The programme incentivises the accelerated uptake of regenerative agriculture practices across the Kerry Agribusiness milk supplier base. Regenerative agriculture refers to a way of farming that is holistic, which recognises the farming enterprise as a whole-system and actively encourages a synergistic approach to on-farm decision making.
Across the five categories, a wide range of outcomes are represented, with focus on the continuation of:
- Improving on-farm nutrient use efficiency and minimising the risks of on-farm nutrients entering waterways.
- Undertaking soil health assessments and building soil fertility where needed.
- Maintaining and enhancing on-farm biodiversity.
- Prioritising animal welfare throughout the farming enterprise.
- Developing skillsets through both interaction with fellow suppliers and external institutions.
